1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Cyprus Sparks dating app, related API services and the Cyprus Sparks website. Cyprus Sparks is intended only for adults aged 18 and over.
2. Information we process
Account and identity information
This can include your email address, display name, birth date, age-related status, account status and authentication records.
Profile and dating information
Depending on what you provide, this can include gender, sexual orientation, who you are seeking, dating intent, area, biography, occupation, interests, languages and age or distance preferences. Some of this information may be sensitive personal data under applicable law.
User content
We process profile photos, messages, Date Post content, reports and other content you choose to submit through the service.
Location
If you choose to provide precise location, Cyprus Sparks can process latitude and longitude to support distance-based discovery. Your exact coordinates are not displayed to other users. You can remove precise location from the app.
Device and service information
We may process push-notification device tokens, notification preferences, security or device-attestation information, service logs and information needed to protect accounts and operate the service.
Age-assurance information
Cyprus Sparks may use age information supplied by you and supported Apple age-range features to determine whether access to the adults-only service is permitted. We may retain age-assurance status and related verification metadata needed to enforce the 18+ requirement.
3. How we collect information
We collect information when you create or update an account, upload content, communicate with another user, enable location or notifications, use safety tools, request support or otherwise interact with Cyprus Sparks.

- create, authenticate and protect your account;
- provide profiles, discovery, matching and messaging;
- provide Date Posts and related introductions;
- calculate relevant distance-based discovery results;
- send requested account and service communications;
- deliver enabled push notifications;
- moderate content and investigate reports;
- prevent fraud, abuse, exploitation and security threats;
- enforce our Terms and adults-only access rules;
- comply with applicable legal obligations; and
- maintain and improve service reliability and safety.
5. Sensitive information
Dating preferences and sexual orientation can reveal sensitive information. Cyprus Sparks uses this information only where relevant to the dating, discovery, matching, safety or account functions for which it was provided and as permitted by applicable law.
6. Content moderation and safety
Text submitted through relevant user-content features may be checked against safety rules before it is accepted. Profile photos may be placed into human moderation before they are published. When automated image moderation is enabled, Cyprus Sparks may use Sightengine as a moderation service provider. Material that is rejected or awaiting review may not be shown publicly.
7. Service providers and data sharing
We use service providers only where needed to operate, secure and support Cyprus Sparks. Current or configured service functions include:
- Postmark / SMTP infrastructure for account email such as verification and password reset;
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for push notifications you enable;
- Apple platform security and age features used by supported app/device integrity and age-range flows;
- Sightengine for automated profile-image moderation when that integration is enabled; and
- hosting and infrastructure providers needed to store and deliver the service.
We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights and security of Cyprus Sparks and others.
8. Push notifications
If notifications are enabled, Cyprus Sparks stores a device token and notification environment and sends relevant notification payloads through Apple Push Notification service. You can change notification preferences in the app and in your device settings.
9. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Cyprus Sparks, keep the service secure, resolve disputes, investigate safety issues and meet legal obligations. Different records may need different retention periods.
When an account is deleted, we aim to remove associated personal information and user content that we are not required or permitted to retain for legal, security, anti-abuse or safety purposes.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on the feature and applicable law, you can update profile information, remove precise location, delete photos, change notification preferences, block users and delete your account from within the app.

11. International processing
Cyprus Sparks and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used for international transfers.
12. Security
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect accounts and personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
13. Adults only
Cyprus Sparks is not intended for anyone under 18. Accounts or access may be restricted where age information indicates that the person is under 18 or where age eligibility cannot be established as required.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our service, processing practices or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page.
